Amy and Iron Annie
With a strong metal skin made of duralumin that was unusual for the time, the Junkers Ju 52 was a reliable and versatile aircraft also known as Aunt Ju or Iron Annie. Despite originating from the early 1930s, several planes remain in operation for heritage aviation displays and aerial sightseeing trips. Amy put her through her paces on Reservists’ Day at the airfield in Gatow last weekend and came away very impressed!
