Description
Micro BB 9291 Le Capitole
Known as BB rouge, the cherry red colour scheme of this 1500-volt electric locomotive became characteristic of Le Capitole. The Class BB 9200 – of which it was a variant – was specially constructed for express trains, with the BB 9291 at the uppermost range able to reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Unlike the other locomotives of its class, Le Capitole had single-arm rather than diamond pantographs. In 1967, it became the first European locomotive to operate at 200 km/h and was used to tow TEE trains on the route between Paris and Toulouse from 1970. This particular model in the museum’s collection came into being right at the tail end of the construction period (1958–1964), during which a total of 92 units rolled off the production line.
This model includes an exclusive tile printed with the locomotive’s name by the SuperBrickBrothers.
Note: 5% of the selling price of this Brickworms kit goes directly to Cité du Train.
