Description
Y 7199 diesel locomotive
Only 210 specimens of this small, Class Y 7100 shunting locomotive were ever produced. Operated by the SNCF between 1958 and 1962, they were mainly confined to freight service at depots but were also used to haul passenger trains over short distances. Nicknamed ‘Yo-yo’ because it is able to change direction quickly and thus travels back and forth along the tracks, the Y 7199 is a standard gauge diesel locomotive with hydraulic transmission. The Cité du Train has two multicoloured models in its collection that match the façade of the building. Originally, however, the livery was green with buttercup stripes, vermilion crossmembers and a black chassis; in the 1960s, the colours were changed to Celtic green with daffodil yellow accents and a slate grey chassis.
The custom-printed tiles with the Cité du Train logo are produced by the SuperBrickBrothers for us.
Note: 5% of the selling price of this Brickworms kit goes directly to Cité du Train.
