Description
Once upon a time, there was a Henschel Wegmann locomotive called 61 002 that was no longer needed. But since recycling was already hip at the Meiningen Reichsbahn Repair Depot many years ago, a real phoenix was built out of the ashes in 1960/61 from it and various other parts that were lying around: the 18 201 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (East German State Railway).
The chromium oxide green beauty was perfected with slimming white stripes. It was in service for around 50 years until it was decommissioned in 2011. Fortunately for its fans, it was declared a historical monument and found a new home with a private railway company in Nossen, where it is operated under the registration number 02 0201-0.
Number of original LEGO® bricks: 994
Measurements of the model: 44.5 x 7.1 x 9.6 cm
Difficulty level: advanced
Note: the micro version of this loco and the engine driver are not part of this kit.
