This set contains the original LEGO® bricks for a model of the Schienenzeppelin. Instructions not included. You can find them in Gabriele Ruthsatz and Ralf J. Klumb‘s book LEGO-Loks bauen!
Please note that the electrical components to drive this model are not included in this kit.
For this model, we also offer a variant with 4 straight track sections and a name tag. Also included are parts which substitute the electrical components, where they are needed for structural and/or optical purposes. This variant is ideal if the model is to have a place of honour in a display cabinet, for example.

Description
Constructing a zeppelin for the rails – you have to come up with such a crazy idea for a start. But railway engineer Franz Kruckenberg was so enthusiastic about the rigid airships that he dared to attempt it. Well, a spectacular fire along with a crash like the one that befell the legendary Hindenburg was not to be feared in any case.
No sooner had it been designed than it was built. A speed record was quickly achieved with the lightweight structure made of aluminium frames, canvas and a little wood. But alas, the silvery speedster was no good at pulling a train and also rotted in no time at all. So it remained what it was from the beginning: an idea that was as beautiful as it was useless.
However, this idiosyncratic vehicle can certainly be considered the ancestor of today’s high-speed trains. Franz Kruckenberg was responsible for other high-speed multiple units, which laid the foundation for the long-distance trains that now race across the world at tremendous speed.
