A twinjet supersonic interceptor with a powerful search radar in the nose, good air-to-air missiles, a maximum speed of Mach 2.1 and rapid climb and acceleration, the Sukhoi Su-15 was an extremely reliable and agile aircraft used by the Soviet Air Defence Forces, then the Russian Air Force and Ukrainian Air Force.
